This is for the Thaan itself, not just the mesh grill. I received my Thaan grill in early August, and after less than two months I honestly didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. It has changed the way we eat. We recently became empty nesters, and this grill is the perfect size for the two of us. At the same time, I’ve successfully used it to feed six people. We have a small San Francisco yard where a full-sized charcoal grill simply wouldn’t work, mostly because I was concerned about the heat and fire risk in such a tight space. The Thaan has completely changed my comfort level. Very little heat escapes through the insulated sides, the exterior and handles remain cool to the touch, and there is very little smoke. The sturdy grill feels remarkably safe. And it is incredibly versatile. I'm just starting, but so far, I’ve made negima, tsukune, wings, scallops, shrimp, rib-eye, picanha, pub-style cheeseburgers, pork ribs, hot dogs, s’mores, firm tofu skewers, and many different vegetables. I’ve even cooked eggs in cast iron on top of the grill. I still have a lot to learn about managing the charcoal and controlling the heat, but that has been a big part of the fun. Every time I use it, I get a little better and find something new I want to try...plus I think the Tare is improving. The photos show just a couple of our meals (the burger, pork ribs, and yakitori) but this grill has already become one of the most frequently used pieces of cooking equipment we have. It’s fun to cook on and equally useful for a quiet dinner for two or a casual meal with friends. I really couldn’t be happier with it. As an aside, being able to reuse the coals feels like a bonus every single time.
